Just saw the headlines of another post which said "maybe she's bait?". You have to say about reading more about her that sceptisism on whether she is the real choice isn't unfounded.
I've been following up Polecat's diary about Alaska's shadow governor and the site cited.
AndrewHalco.com is a treasure trove of information for the entire tenure of her governorship.
AndrewHalco.com
Hubby seems to be involved in official state business. To the point that he recieves emails that the governor has called "privileged" and has refused to give them over even when an open records request has been made. Emails with the subject matter of "Andrew Halco" (pg 1) and "PSEA" pg 24).
see this List of redacted emails
If you look at the pages in the attachment you'll find that these emails were sent to Mr Shadow Governor (listed on the emails as recipient "T. Palin") even by other members of her administration.
Who's Andrew Halco that's mentioned as the email subject? Oh he's just the former political rival and relentless critic of the Governor—broke who broke the sister's ex husband's bosses firing scandal that she is now under state investigation for.
And PSEA? That's "The Public Safety Employees Association" (PSEA) otherwise known as the "troopers" which is what the sister's ex husband was a member of and whose commisioner was fired by the governor's order.
So this VP pick of McCain's. Someone who he's met once, talked to on the phone once, has just a bit of baggage. That's experience for you.
And you know, if she really is just a red herring as suggested in that other diary. And we (bloggers) do all the vetting for the republicans to the point that maybe McCain throws her under the bus. You know what I'd almost prefer Lieberman to be a heartbeat away from the red button than this unknown.
