The real danger with Palin is that she's running as a stealth candidate. If you saw her Dayton speech you could see that she didn't want to talk about any issues. The conservatives already know where she stands so she doesn't have to convince them. The plan seems to be to not let the rest of the country on and hope that she can fool them.
Never mind the experience thing, never mind the lack of vetting, we need to hit her hard on the issues now.
- Massively pro-life Even in cases of rape and incest, Palin believes that a woman should not be able to get an abortion.
- Supporter of Pat Buchanan for President in 1996. Find some old video of him making outrageous statements and then show this:
Not just a supporter, she held fundraisers for Buchanan.
- Palin is in the pocket of big oil. She vetoed alternative fuel options. One tenth of her funding in 2002 was from oil companies.
- She broke the law to support mining interests. "It is against the law for the governor to officially advocate for or against a ballot measure; however, Palin took what she calls 'personal privilege' to discuss one of this year's most contentious initiatives, which voters will decide Tuesday." Then again why would anyone want to have this when they could have an open strip mine?
This ad basically writes itself. Start out asking, "Who is Sarah Palin?" go through the highlights above and end with, "Perhaps that's why George Bush found this choice 'exciting.'" I don't have the video skills or I'd do it myself.
Never mind troopergate (for now). Never mind even the inexperience, "I don't know what the VP does," thing. Slam her on the issues and slam her hard before she defines herself.
