Check out the Palin for Governor website! Whoops, guess that doesn't go anywhere useful. But thanks to the wonderful Wayback Machine we can get a glimpse from even such an obvious and tepid source as her own website on what Governor Palin thinks the solution to the healthcare crisis is!

If you check out the Nov 2005 edition of this page, you'll get this tasty morsel on healthcare.

High costs are hurting Alaskans. Nationwide we see soaring costs adversely affecting our families and businesses. In Alaska, our Medicaid budget has quadrupled in the past 10 years. It's a vicious cycle caused by fewer people being able to pay for services, which forces more goverment subsidies, resulting in even higher costs. Too often the driver of rising costs is a lack of competition. Sarah supports consideration of legislative and regulatory changes allowing competition that's good for the consumer.
Okay, so let's see. Palin's solution to crippling health care costs is...
- Blame MedicAid. Notice that MediCare is conspicuously absent. I guess those valuable senior voters shouldn't be pissed off!
- Solution! Increase competition in healthcare providers. You can read this as MORE HMOs, insurance companies, etc.
Anyone who believes that there must be baseline standards of healthcare in the United States cannot support these views. Gov. Palin is 100% in lock-step with the Bush-McCain view of solving the healthcare crisis -- MORE money and control for HMOs and insurance companies.
