So Billo is on his show and he says "Matters like this are PRIVATE. It's only when teenage pregnancy results in kids having to receive state and federal assistance that it becomes a matter for public consumption.
Then with the help of senate fugitive Karl Rove and Howard Wolfson, he goes on to talk about how it's THE MEDIA (including Dailykos of course) that's the REAL problem, not Sarah Palin.
WOW. JUST.....WOW.
Actually, I must commend Billo for showing the true face of the Republican party and their attitude towards unwed mothers. Apparently it goes something like this:
If you're poor and or black and have children out of wedlock and take food stamps and other public assistance, we will endlessly jeer and mock you, we will make you symbols of everything thats morally wrong with Blacks. We will paint the men as shiftless, lazy, illiterates with all the sexual discretion of a dog in heat, and we will call the women "Cadillac Welfare Queens" who are single-handedly a drain on the nation's economy.
We will cut funding to public assistance, public schools and public transportation. We'll also cut funding to educational assistance to school loans and grants. We'll also refuse any upgrades to your ghettos and our gun laws will ensure that violence and chaos rules in the streets. We'll call it "Fiscal Responsibility" in our speeches, but behind locked doors we'll call it what it really is: "Creating a Cycle of Poverty That the Ignorant Nigras Can't Get Out Of". (Oh, we'll also get the CIA to import crack into your neighborhoods. Don't say we never did anything for you)
You see, we'll EXACERBATE the bad situation that you're already in, and then use that as a REASON why you shouldn't be helped any further. Isn't that a neat trick? We're great at that kind of stuff. In addition, even though it costs less to keep a person in college for four years than it does to keep them in prison for three, we're going to continue to keep stuffing the prisons with black men (like Willie Horton) so that we can scare the shit out the suburbanites and thereby keep our jobs. Which largely consist of attending fancy dress parties with our rich and powerful friends from the defense companies, the drug corporations and the gun lobbies and raising $1M for whatever disease is popular this week.
Of course now, if you're a good, wholesome, white kid from a well-to-do family, why, you just made a mistake! Could have happened to anyone! You'll be just fine and all the bad people who would judge you can just go straight to H-E-Double hockey sticks!
