Today's Gallup tracking poll shows Obama increasing his lead over McCain by 1%. Obama has held steady at yesterday's 49%, but McCain has slipped a point to 42%.

The poll reflects the first two days of the Republican convention, but none of the polling was taken after Sarah Palin's acceptance speech late last night. Tomorrow's tracking results will include one day's worth of polling following that speech, and will be the first indication from Gallup of how her speech was received.
While not statistically significant, the poll clearly does not indicate any bounce for McCain thus far from the convention. In contrast, at this same point last week, following Hillary's speech on Tuesday, Gallup found a substantial 5% bounce for Obama.
