Can someone please direct the DNC, David Plouffe, David Axelrod, and the rest of Obama's senior staff over to The Daily Show for some pointers on how to easily and effectively make hard hitting television spots?
Its only taken the Obama campaign and the DNC to wait until September 4th to make one decent commercial (currently airing in Michigan) that really goes after McCain.
It defies reason how a show with a small staff of writers and editors can effectively emasculate the Republican machine, but the Obama campaign still can't.
In a week of $300,000 outfits, Republicans congratulating themselves for going 1 for 2 when dealing with New Orleans, the selection of an absolute zero for the Vice Presidency of the United States, horrid unemployment results, and a Republican nominee asking to be elected as a reward for the last 8 years he helped stay elected...
I've had to watch the Daily Show to remedy all of the Right's lies. Not the Obama campaign. The Daily Show. Not MSNBC or CNN... The Daily Show.
Meanwhile, Sarah The Impaler will be doing 30 fundraisers over the next 60 days for the Republican party to run ad after ad after ad filled with the most vile and distorted items imaginable.
I love Barack and Joe. I love what Barack stands for...but this is it. This is the time. This is the time to be a Chicago politician. He has to have the cash to launch massive advertising campaigns of the strongest nature against McCain.
I don't want to hear about "political silly season" any more from the campaign. I want to see the lightning and hear the thunder from the Obama campaign.
When I watch how the Daily Show cuts down these paper tigers, I can't understand how the Obama campaign doesn't follow their lead.
This election is gift-wrapped for Obama. It doesn't matter that this campaign is actually a referendum on the United States. It doesn't matter what's at stake. The general populous has an easier time remembering "elitist" than "political silly season."
The Republican campaign machine is so cynical that they've even begun to usurp the "change" message by Obama.
What matters is how you effectively imprint why change is needed by pointing out the glaring fantasy world the Republicans are currently pushing.
So, in closing:
