I know a lot of people here a worried since McCain is ahead in USA today/Gallup, zogby and tied in a couple of others. I`m not worried, this is a bounce and Obama had a bigger lead in the USA today/Gallup last week.
But anyway, I think Biden is stepping up his attacks on McCain.
In Kalispell (MT) he mocked McCain/Palin several times for his "out of touch" attitude to the economy. He also managed to include Freddie/Fannie in the economy-attacks which I think is a wise move. I think one of the most important issues with "green energy" vs oil drilling is that "green energy" will be more labor intensive then offshore-drilling (which is capital intensive). That is an argument I haven`t heard the democrats push enough so far, but I think they are "stepping up". Biden attacked and Mocked McCain and continued to say McCain is Bush. But he also managed to include Palin there, I think Obama/Biden is waiting for an opportunity to merge Palin into the McCain is Bush narrative, but they have to do it slowly so it doesn`t seem stupid.
The best way to attack McCain is on the economy, no doubt about it, he is clueless there and the economy is bad at the moment. Historically the US normal does better under a democrat, but somehow it looks like people forgets that. I think I have only heard that argument from James Carville, others should also use it.
But anyway I think Biden is attacking McCain in a good way, I know others want him to attack harder or maybe attack him personally, but I don`t agree. The most important thing is to attack McCain on economy, Fannie/Freddie and the unemployment numbers are a golden opportunity to raise the importance of the economy in this election even more. Because "it is the economy stupid" all over again....
