This is going to be a brief diary, too brief I'm sure. I'm figuring out how to allocate my limited time and energy (I've got two youngkids, my wife and I both work full-time) in the next two months before the presidential election. I'm wondering if anyone has any information about rigorous studies on the effectiveness of telephone canvassing of undecided voters. I've done all sorts of grassroots campaigning, and after an afternoon of 50 or so face-to-face interviews, I always feel I've swayed five or six people - a decent result. Phone calling in this day and age just pisses people off, I fear. Anyone know of any studies. I think that answering this question would be useful for the kos community as a whole, and not just me.
