Daily Kos readers and posters, I need your help!
It has been proposed by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Association on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, to raise the driving age from 16 to 17 or 18 in the United States of America and this group will it urge the government to pass laws to raise the driving age.
Please go to www.ipetitions.com/petiton/dontraise to sign the petition to tell the United States Government to not raise the driving age and to keep it at age 16. Teenagers in America have earned their right to drive at this age if they pass the driver's test and follow a set of six-month permit period laws.
I hope you all remember when you got your license to drive at the age of 16. Please stand with me and teenagers across America and tell our government to keep the driving age at 16. We're not asking for it to be lower or raised. We're asking for it to stay at 16. I have been working hard in school and volunteering in my community to show others that I can be trusted to drive. And I think many other teenagers across America think the same.
Before I close, I want to let everyone know that over 3,000 people have signed the petition to bring to MSNBC as Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann to MSNBC as Anchors. I created the petition with a goal of 500 signatures and the American people sent a clear message to MSNBC that we want these to fine men back.
