Seeing how my last idea(asking where McCain and Bush differ on the issues) has become part of Obama's stump speech, I figure it might be time to try again.
Sarah Palin, this ridiculous pro-pedophilia ad, mock outrage over a phrase that McCain himself used, it all leads to one simple question.
Is there anything McCain wouldn't do to win this election?
Let's see, so far he's sold out his core beliefs, tied himself to George Bush, lied about that that tying, accused Obama of being a traitor, and all of that was before the convention.
Choose your VP to be someone who knows nothing about foreign policy? Sure! Lie about something that's obviously disprovable and continue to lie after it's been pointed out? No problem! Decide that scoring points in the culture war is more important than protecting our children? Gladly!
There's the hook, the pattern that we can associate McCain with over and over and over again. McCain will do anything, ANYTHING to win this election. Don't believe us? Check out what he does tomorrow. Spread the word and it'll blunt the power of his next stunt, turning it to another example of his power lust.
That's the difference between the candidates. Obama wants to be President to accomplish things. McCain just wants to be President. It puts us at a disadvantage on tactics - we can't run the endlessly cynical campaign that McCain is because it would make our task harder if we win- but here's a case where we can turn it to our advantage. McCain would do anything to be President. He'd kick a puppy if it would appeal to the puppy kicking lobby and then he'd lie about it the next day even if it were taped. Spread the word and the polls will follow.
