One minute into her Charlie Gibson interview, Palin notes:
When he offered me the position of his running mate, the first thing I said to him was: "If you really think I can help the ticket... if you really think that I can help this country."

Note that ticket comes before country. Oops!
If you're wondering why you may have missed that, it's because most transcripts of Palin's "blizzard of words" just don't say that. I suspect some of Palin's words were cut simply to make it an easier read, much as Obama's pauses are. But this bit here is important because "Country First" is one of McCain's campaign themes!
It's obvious to anyone with a pulse that McCain's pick is political calculus first and foremost. But now, it can be shown with her own words that Palin engages in the same "Country Second" calculus. And we should be vigilant about transcripts that don't reflect the complete exchange.
And yeah, my apologies for a Palin diary. But amidst all the other inane notable crap she spewed and bum transcripts, I feared this tidbit might get lost to the memory hole.
