Rick Warren revealed a very interesting story regarding a recent interaction he had with Palin. I think he was hinting something about Palin's character by just repeating her words without rephrasing or reinterpreting. Did anyone else catch this little gem on NBC's First Read?

Palin reached out to Pastor Rick Warren for advice. "The question I asked her was, 'How can I pray for you?' " Warren said, The Hill newspaper reported online yesterday. Palin then "asked me to send her some Bible verses on how do you deal with the unfair, unjust attacks and the mean-spirited criticism that comes in," Warren said.
He asks "how can I pray for you?" and Warren reports her response was she "asked me to send her some Bible verses on how do you deal with the unfair, unjust attacks and the mean-spirited criticism that comes in."
She did not say 'Please pray that I have the strength to deal with the challenges ahead' or 'Please pray that I will make wise decisions that are best for America'. She asked him to come up with some bible verses she can use to portray herself as a victim of mean-spirited attacks.
I imagine the stump speech 2.0 would include something like "Well, you know it's been tough out here with the liberal media trying to destroy me, but as my friend Pastor Rick Warren told me, the scripture says ....."
I think the response to Warren is very revealing about her character - self-pitying, and self-centered. I think it's more interesting the Rick Warren put that out there.
It's kind of a small subtle point, but maybe it's a hint of how some Christians might see her. Thoughts?
