That's a 10% drop since Sarah Palin was announced as possibly being a 72-year old heart beat way from the Presidency.
Then there's the Bush Legacy of Republican ideas:
Meh, those numbers are hard to read, and I'm too lazy to make 'em bigger right now.
When Bush took over, the DOW was at 10,587. On September 17, 2008--yesterday--it closed at 10,609.
By my calculations that's a 22 point gain during the reign of Bush and the Republican philosophies of government and economy.
All those charts about you retiring early estimate at least a 8% annual growth rate.
Under George W. Bush and Commerce Committee Chairman John McCain's policy the annual growth rate has been 0%.
That's the ownership society that John McCain and his fellow Republicans have left America with over the past 8 years.
And now John McCain and crew can't even own up to the failures of their ideas.
And it wasn't all for nothing. Under Bush we have also doubled the national debt (to $9 Trillion), doubled the size of government (up to just over $3 Trillion a year) and are engaged in two wars.
So there's that.
