If our financial crisis is as dire as they say, it's most likely that rash, quick action isn't going to make that much difference. We're doomed anyway.
If our financial crisis is repairable, we should take the time to find the best path, and procede transparently. In other words, not another Patriot Act, not another War in Iraq. Been there, done that.
For the life of me...
I don't understand why lawmakers have to abandon Washington, D.C. by Friday in order to go home and campaign for elections and re-elections. That's insane! That's crazy! What good is it to win an election when you don't have a country left to govern?
The men and women of both houses of Congress should stay in Washington, D.C. until our current financial crisis is sorted out and a good, well thought out plan is developed and implemented. Cum'on! No more shock and awe baloney!
The very fact that Secretary Paulsen and Chairman Bernanke are making these outrageous demands for immediate approval should make everyone suspicious.
I repeat: if they're on the level, we're doomed already. Otherwise, let's take a deep breath and figure this out.
