Enough dancing around this already - is McCain in command of his faculties or not?
His erratic and impulsive behavior is nothing new, as National Security Network points out, but what does seem to be new is his ducking the spotlight.
He "suspended" his campaign for this pow-wow in DC, and then he keeps his mouth shut for 40 minutes?
What really stood out to me were Harry Reid's comments afterward. He said
I would suggest that anyone in that meeting who tried to understand what John McCain said at that meeting, couldn’t.

(Hm diary entry won't seem to let me make it a live link so you'll have to cut and paste.)
What exactly does that mean? Does that mean he was incoherent? Reid's quote has been reported on a few news outlets (I saw it on CNN late last night), but apparently nobody has asked exactly what Reid meant by that.
If McCain really has lost it, I think the chances of him showing up tonight are pretty low - because if he can't hold it together, getting through a debate with Obama is the least of his worries right now.
