On ABC's This Week on 9/28, McCain said that a typical family would be money ahead with his $5,000 tax credit to buy family health insurance rather than having it be provided by employers.
This is incredibly clueless on his part. I pay $817 per month for family coverage per month with a $6000 deductible--and this is a better deal than most. $416 per month is a joke.
This is the type of metric that the average person can identify with. It shows McCain is totally out of touch with the lives of the ordinary working American. He seems to think that only the "rich" pay more than $416 per month for their family medical coverage. Were it only so.
