This was really simple and some of you figured it out.  Hat tip to Shelby in Manhattan and sckitty.  It was Sean Hannity who was the major source of the Palin talking points although there was a tip that Hannity's tutoring of Palin went beyond the on-air coaching.

First, please review my diary of yesterday.  You will find that Palin parroted virtually every point I mentioned on subjects brought up. Also review the audio interview that Sean Hannity had with Sarah Palin on Tuesday. You will find that almost everything Palin was saying last night was the EXACT SAME THING WORD FOR WORD SPOON FED TO HER BY HANNITY.

Here's what happened.

Sean Hannity has been coordinating with the McCain campaign to coach/tutor Sarah Palin. Hannity and Palin have been in constant contact with each other over the past few days.

Palin did a 2nd interview with Hannity on radio where Hannity was directed to give Palin final talking points.  Hannity's questions were not about Palin's answers but were about giving Palin words that she should use and lines of attack in the debate.  It was coordinated with the McCain camp.  It was a cram session.

The cram sessions were not just limited to the on air conversations.  Hannity was prepping her OFF the air and in coordination with the McCain campaign.  Basically, Hannity was acting as Palin's tutor. She was using his talking points WORD FOR WORD.  Most of the info I got from Hannity's show, some of it was what got said off the air.

Palin was horrible in last night's debate.  She was just trying to string together a bunch of disjointed sound bites and hope that her concoctions of run-on sentences would make some semblance of sense.  She had a bunch of sound bites that Hannity drilled into her in their tutoring sessions and it was as if Palin was a robot who would simply parrot one of those talking points and then parrot another talking point.  At times it was so obvious that Palin was merely a puppet.

Sarah Palin is an extremist.  The fact that she's hanging around with a nutcase right wing talk show host named Sean Hannity who is on record as saying that he enjoys seeing skeletons of mass graves, who defended the torture of Abner Louima, who calls babies raised by lesbians "turkey baster babies," who supports Jesse Lee Peterson's beliefs that Hitler was heaven sent and blacks turn everything into ghettos, who once said that preventing Nancy Pelosi from being speaker of the House is worth dying for, and who openly supported a neo Nazi like Hal Turner and a racist like Bob Grant who once called for executing every gay or lesbian who attended a parade and who once said that all African American men should be sterilized demonstrates once again that Palin is even a bigger joke.

What Hannity did here was unethical and if a person working for CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, or any mainstream radio or TV station in America was providing private and public debate prep to a vice presidential candidate, he or she would be fired on the spot.  Then again, Hannity is doing such a great job of sinking McCain, Palin, and the entire Republican Party that part of me wants him to continue to have the profile that he does.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

It was a debate prep.  Hannity coordinated with MCcain camp.  She was supposed to memorize what Hannity was feeding her one last time.  The crib notes were prepared for her then.

Many of us here take up niches.  That's one of mine.  I can give a sermon but I'll leave that to PastorDan.  I can give extensive charts about economics but I'll leave that to the likes of Bonddad.  I can talk about hurricanes but I'll leave that to that diarist who nailed it.  Why?  They do it so much better than me.

I actually just had a long comment with someone about how you can take down Republican politicians through the talk show hosts who shill for them.

        Two examples come to mind.

        1.  Rush Limbaugh - A.  Supported Jim Talent.  B.  Talent supported him.  C.  Limbaugh mocks Michael J. Fox for Parkinsons. D. McCaskill releases ad attacking Limbaugh and Talent's association with him.  E. Limbaugh attacks McCaskill  F.  McCaskill is no Chicken Little.  She fights back harder with another ad.  G.  McCaskill is your Senator today from Missouri.

Point - McCaskill took down Talent through Limbaugh. W/O Limbaugh's comment, she losess.

        1.  Bob Grant - 1994 New Jersey Senate.  Bad year for Democrats.  Incumbent Dem governor just lost in 1993.  Chuck Haytaian runs against Lautenberg.  Haytaian leads in polls in October.  Haytaian had gone on the Grant show on WABC. (Hannity's predecessor and "mentor.")  Grant had called blacks savages and MLK a scumbag.  Lautenberg releases ad going after Bob Grant and blasting Haytaian for going on that show.

Conclusion - Lautenberg won.  Had he not exposed Haytaian through Grant, he would have lost.

The same can and IS being done with Hannity.  We are using Hannity to take down the GOP and EVERY politician who goes on his show.  With Hannity's personal style, his previous quotes, and the quotes of his associates, this makes what McCaskill and Lautenberg did seem like child's play.

Sean Hannity Spanked by Phil Donahue

VERY interesting bio. It helps to be doctrinaire and under-educated....sort of makes it easier to propel the propaganda:

Hannity graduated in 1980 from St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary high school, located in Uniondale, New York. Described as "an indifferent student",[4] Hannity dropped out of New York University for financial reasons and later decided to pursue a radio career.[3] In 2005, Jerry Falwell, chancellor of Liberty University awarded him an honorary degree

Hannity holds both Irish and U.S. citizenship.

Conservative Cal Thomas and liberal Bob Beckel, in their book Common Ground, describe Hannity as a leader of the pack among broadcasting political polarizers, which following James Q. Wilson they define as those who have "an intense commitment to a candidate, a culture, or an ideology that sets people in one group definitively apart from people in another, rival group."

I listen to Hannity almost daily--because I want to know what is going on with the enemy. This poster has it right, Palin sounded like Hannity had crawled directly into her body. I'm surprised she didn't tell Gwen Ifill she was a 'great American.' I guess she did tell McCain (and all of the rest of us) he was a great American which I'm sure hit him and Hannity like a handful of Viagra. Hannity and his minions are great a**holes first, and NEVER great Americans. He peddles hate (bundled up in a xeroxed copy of the flag) from a loudspeaker mounted on a periscope (conveniently provided by the Clear Channel radio outlets and Fixed News stations throughout the land). Someday this vessel will lose enough ballast--the whole stinking submarine will lurch and breach the viscous plane he's been hiding beneath--so that the country will see him for exactly what he is: A small-minded weakling intent on spreading his moronic disease to an uneducated and impressionable public. Surface, Sean, surface! Let the the u-boat that is you come to the wind-whipped light! You and yours are going down for good when this is done. I know for a fact, being in broadcasting myself, that a journalist either local or national, would be fired immediately for interfering in a political debate. In fact, radio and television have strict policies regarding journalists' involvement in political campaigns.

Everyone remembers that Sean has provided talking points to George Stephanopolous of ABC.

The mainstream media would have a field day over this hot issue. If anyone on this post works or knows someone who works for a publication, please tell them that Palin received her talking points from Sean and there's proof to back up the claim with audio from Sean's radio interviews.
