Sarah Palin was runner up in the Miss Alaska pagaent in her attempt to make to the big show, the Miss America pagaent. America had a front row seat at the VP debate to Palin's winks, nods, folksy demeanor and 90-second soundbites of talking points from the campaign trail. She even channeled Dick Cheney, only answering the questions she wanted to answer and scaring the crap out of us with her fantasy about running the senate. It's time to turn the page. Thirty one days and counting. Join me below:
OK, the McCain campaign survived to slime, lie and stunt for another day. The "suspending the campaign" stunt moved Rick Davis's mess to the back pages. The house and senate votes for the bailout/rescue helped Obama but it also overshadowed the news of an Alaska court's decision to deny a motion to stop trooper-gate. The MSM is ignoring the affair story reported by National Inquirer. Funny how they are laying low much like the Edwards affair. Palin also dumped her tax returns late Friday. Nice.
Couric helped her own career and further exposed Palin for the fraud that she is. We've given Palin enough ink on Dkos and elsewhere. Bad press is better than no press. The MSM were unwilling co-conspirators in setting the expectations so low for the debate. (giving them the benefit of the doubt) It was outrageous.
So we are playing the McCain game. We continue to act surprised about Palin's incoherence and immature word choice and sentence arrangements. We sit around hoping for the next gaffe or interview debacle.
Folks...she went to 5 colleges to get one degree, and it's a journalism degree. LOL. She's supposed to be able to think on her feet or at least on her butt while answering the easiest of questions. The University of Idaho's journalism school should recall her degree and its accreditation association should investigate. How did she earn a degree? Her brain is a recorder. She is void of cognitive skills. Enough said.
We can count on McCain and his boys to get thug nasty. It's time for us to go stealth.
Are you ready to focus all of our attention to help Obama counter the leaze that is coming his way? Are you ready to get viral with our efforts to register voters and get them to the polls? Are you ready to use our greatest resource - our fingers and minds - to spread the word about a world under the McCain-Palin administration? And finally, are you ready to SCREAM at the MSM to not go for McCain's stunts and distractions and ignore the issues in the final stretch?
To remind us of what we are up against, below are excerpts from today's Washington Post and New York Times:
The Washington Post
McCain Plans Fiercer Strategy Against Obama
Sen. John McCain and his Republican allies are readying a newly aggressive assault on Sen. Barack Obama's character, believing that to win in November they must shift the conversation back to questions about the Democrat's judgment, honesty and personal associations, several top Republicans said.
Sarah Palin in the New York Times
"Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he’s palling around with terrorists who would target their own country?"
Obama will counter. But we will need to help drown out the smear campaign. There is no depth too deep for Fox News, Limbaugh and other Republican alarmists and low IQ voters to repeat the venom about Ayers and Wright. The rhetoric and adjectives of the spring will pale by comparison.
The MSM will play along, so we will have a cycle of news, hopefully a short one, that will report the old news about Ayers and Wright as new news.
John McCain and his soulmate eye-candy will run around the country yelling incoherent thoughts that end with Ayers, Wright and terrorists.
What can you do? In addition to registering yourself and others to vote and actually voting on Nov. 4, you can:
- protest MSM advertisers with demands not support media outlets that run McCain's hate advertising. Tell the advertisers NOT THIS TIME!
- protest MSM with demands to reject any McCain advertising that knowingly contains half-truths and lies. Fact checking after the fact is a waste of time. You can't un-ring the bell. Low information/low IQ viewers who see the McCain advertising won't see the fact checking. Tell the MSM NOT THIS TIME!
3)protest NBC to demand that Brokaw, at least for one night, keep his opinions to himself and not manipulate Tuesday's debate to favor McCain as he did in the closing of last Sunday's MTP.
Time to act. Time to send Palin back to Alaska to face the investigators, angry voters and moose. Time to send John McCain back to the senate to serve out the rest of his turn because Arizona surely doesn't want him back after discovering who is really is these last few months.
Take the poll.
