Though not a true Diary, this is something I've encountered more than once during this campaign.
for me it began with our new Pastor. He is a focused Pastor on
how to best help those in need, both from a spiritual sense and in practical terms in today's world.
He's changed the way I view myself, my place in the world and what's possible in the ability to help others.
as an example, in the UMC today it's 'World Communion Day' and we had a focus on hunger and how we can help, following the service was a workshop on how to engage your Congressperson in the discussion and what Bills are out there that could alleviate hunger not only here but globally.
He's also focused on how to best help your fellow man (and woman), he speaks to me on the get yourself up by the bootstraps mantra, but help someone tie the shoe and make sure there are no holes in the shoe,
I just don't see that in the McCain/Palin view of life but DO see it in how candidate Obama has conducted his life and what he's presented
as a vision on how he wants America to be.
In the quiet times, when I only have myself to listen to, my heart, thoughts and desire are more aligned with Senator Obama than McCain/Palin. He brings to mind what is possible in the US of A and it's how I want to live.
