According to a report released late Thursday night Governor Palin was cleared of all wrongdoing in the firing of Alaska safety commissioner Walt Monegan.
While speculation that the governor abused her power in office by pressuring Monegan to fire her brother in law, Alaska state trooper Mike Wooten, was rampant, a report released by the McCain campaign today cleared the Republican Vice Presidential nominee of any wrong doing.
In a move that will put satire writers out of work until at least after the election the McCain campaign has outdone itself once again by releasing it's own "fair and balanced" report on the Troopergate scandal hours before the official report will be released.
In what objective observers could only describe as one of the most blatantly cynical maneuvers of the campaign the McCain campaign decried the investigation, launched unanimously by Alaska's Republican dominated legislature as
"muddied with innuendo, rumor and partisan politics."
before releasing their own, truthier, version of events.
