Washington is in trouble. We're three weeks away from kicking out of office an amazing Governor and replacing her with George Bush's insolent step-son. Dino Rossi is going to take our successful economy, freeze it, and crash us deep into this recession. He's going to overturn anything and everything progressive. And Washington is going to accept this and celebrate it. Dino Rossi is running a smear campaign that puts McCain to shame. He's been running it from day 1. Gov. Gregoire's campaign just hasn't been organized and because of that, she's trailing as the better candidate. But we can do something to save the state. Follow after the fold.
Right now, Democrats has the super-majority in the Washington Senate. We stand only 2 seats away from taking the super-majority in the house. My candidate, Tim Knue, stands to take one of those seats. With two victories, we can make Dino Rossi nothing but a muppet in the office. We stand at that edge right now.
Tim just retired from teaching High School Career and Tech Education for 32 years. He spoke out to our Superintendent of the State about our awful testing system, the WASL. The test has pushed kids out of school, made graduation difficult, and cut off abilities to take classes outside the basic four subjects. Tim wants to fix that.
Tim also owned a small business and knows what it's like during the start-up years with taxes. He plans tax breaks to businesses in their formative stages so they can gain footing and grow, and then start contributing to the taxes every business pays.
Our opponent is the textbook definition of partisan career Republican. She worked for Jack Metcalf, and then ran two campaigns of her own, losing both. She was appointed to her position in January as a Republican Lifetime Achievement Award, and was the only Freshman Rep. to not be able their own legislation.
She's voted against controlling heavy pesticide use on school grounds, voted against giving EMS mental health first aid training, she voted against tolling a highway bridge in construction, but she voted against funding it, too. She went to our capitol to practice saying "thanks, but no thanks," it seems.
Oh, and she had to say "I'll have to get back to ya" at a forum. Judging the national thermometer, we DON'T like politicians like that, right?
However, the economy is hurting us all. Donors who said they'd be able to donate $50 now need to spend that on bills. PACs that wanted to max out can only send half the contribution. We're in the final crunches.
Please, go to www.timknue.com and make a contribution to help give Washington the super-majority, and help make two republican operatives obsolete. We can't have Dino Rossi in our Governor's house. The stakes are too high. Even worse, we can't have him with a party-line politician voting 'No' every step of the way. Please recommend this and keep Washington strong and safe.
