I can't wait for the elections to be over with. The presidential campaign feels as though it's been going on for decades. Enough already!
What I am particular sick of are certain terms and phrases we keep hearing and reading over and over. Let us support, pray for, and vote for Obama so that we won't ever have to hear them again after November 4th.
Follow me below for the terms, phrases, names, and references I am most sick of:
- "One heartbeat away from the presidency"
- metaphorical references to pitbulls (with or without lipstick)
- "hockey mom"
- "Joe Six-pack"
- William Ayers, Tony Rezko, and Rev. Wright, unless they actually do something new and newsworthy
- references to anyone as a Muslim, unless he or she actually is a muslim
- references to anyone as a terrorist, unless he or she actually committed murder for political reasons
- "Maverick" -- unless it's actually someone's name
- the term "executive experience," especially in context with small town mayors
- speaking of which, anything to do with Wasilla, AK (my apologies to residents if I'm wrong, but a town where people get married at Wal-Mart sounds like a miserable place to me)
- references to a visit at Grandma's house (regardless of where Grandma lives) as "exotic" while aerial wolf hunting is portrayed as the activity of "regular Americans" (Does anybody here personally know anyone who hunts wolves from aircrafts?)
- "my friends" -- unless the person saying it actually is a friend
- neologisms with the suffix "-gate"
- neologisms with "moose" in it
- "Straight Talk Express
- anyone's personal tragedy as a reason why we owe him or her the presidency
