I will be out of town on Nov 4th so I decided to go and vote early this past Saturday. I live in Northern VA and voting places are now open daily and on Saturdays for absentee "in person" voting. My two sons were visiting from college and we all went together to vote.
We arrived at the voting site (Fairfax County Gov Ctr) at about 10 AM and outside the building we found a very nice woman at a table with an Obama sign giving out sample ballots for the Dem tickets (three Congressional Districts vote here). We took three sample ballots, thanked her and went inside. We saw no sign of the McCain people anywhere around which I thought was strange since every time I have voted before around here I have always seen people from the two parties.
Inside the building there was a steady stream of people going in and out of the voting office. There were at least twenty people working the voting process and everyone was always busy. At any given time while I was there, 5 to 10 people waited in line to vote.
There must have been 20 to 30 voters in the offices at any given time, and the flow in and out was steady during the 20 to 30 minutes that we were there.
I saw a lot of young voters, many of them coming with who I assume were their parents.
We voted and left. As we were leaving the building a man seating now at the table with the woman we met earlier waved good-bye to us. I asked him how things were going with the sample ballots and he answered "Excellent!!!".
I thanked him for his work, he thanked me for my support, and we went on our way.
Make no mistake everyone, We Will Win Virginia!!!
