Wielding a sharp axe but a demure smile, Rachel pawned Frum big time on her show. Apparently Frum does not have an understanding of satire, tounge in cheek and what not but thinks serious discourse can only be done by extra serious intelligentsia in a strict tone.
David Frum practically accused Rachel of adding to the negativity of discourse in the current political environment. This came after she asked him about his recent article where he said "those who press Bill Ayers are whipping fury that will be hard to calm after November", somehow equating such fury whipping to the kind of sarcastic tone that is used on MSNBC.
Rachel challenged Frum to equate her comments with "Kill Him", "Off with his head" "terrorist" kind of statements and he punted saying it's the tone that is important not the substance of what was said or something to that effect.
Must hand it to Rachel...cool as a cucumber, no shouting or screaming unlike the dumbass O'Reilly who under similar circumstances would have blown a gasket and shouted over his guest. Rachel calmly repeated Frum's accusations and challenged him to equate the rabid nonsense spewing out of the wingnuts to the satirical commentary on her show.
David kept running all around the tone argument and did not directly answer Rachel even though she pressed multiple times, including schooling him on commentary through humor and satire.
No video yet, and will look for it as soon as available, but Frum wants Rahcel et al "to be the change you want to see."
Riiight! Has he ever said this on Fox News or to any of his cohorts on the Right?
I will give him this much though - he did accept there will be a Dem. Prez and Dem Congress with expanded majority; however, he still thought Dems did not see threats to the nation as Repubs did and Rachel pawned him again. Frum says if Rachel was serious about these issues, she wouldn't joke about it and would invite the douchebag Wolfowitz to discuss uch serious issues. Wolfowitz!? Are you effin' kidding me? Wolfowitz?
Rachel pwned him again on the Wolfowitz comment. Must watch TV.
