I feel like I'm spending more time asking for help than actually contributing much else to this site, but the fact remains that this is very critical. If anyone objects to this I'll be happy to remove the diary.
Please follow me below the fold
For those of you who have read my diaries you know that organ donation and tissue donation is a pet project of mine. I know this diary will not meet the 'normal' guidelines but I hope you'll humor me and if you can help please do.
I received this email yesterday from a very good friend and I know this is 100% on the up and up, it's not one of those blast emails that goes out to thousands of people. If you live in Massachusetts or know someone who does please pass the word.
The Belmont Lions are trying to help save the life of an 8 year old boy. He has a rare disease and wont survive without a bone marrow transplant.
There are currently no matches for him in the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) Registry.
In order to help him and his family, the Belmont Lions are will be hosting a donor drive at their clubhouse
Belmont Lions Club
1 Common Street
Belmont, MA 02478
Saturday, October 18th from noon to 4:00pm.
Anyone who can make it, please stop by to join the NMDP and have a quick cheek swab (no needles).
You may be the only one who can help. Thank you.
PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED WITH A BONE MARROW REGISTRY HERE IS A LINK TO DO SO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED regardless of where you live. Thank you!
