I am a historian from the South. It has been made very clear in US history that to secede from the union is traitorous. Anyone who is unclear about that should look up the word "reconstruction" as it applies to American History. The Civil War took more American lives than any other. The war began over secession by the Confederate states.
Todd Palin has been a member of the Alaskan Independence Party. If I understand correctly he is inactive, but still on their roles. Governor Sarah Palin made a video to be shown at the opening of the AIP convention THIS year. She encouraged them to "Keep up the good work". She has had other associations with the party including attending their convention.
The Alaskan Independence Party is, as its name suggests, a secessionist entity. Secession is not just a subtext for them it is their sole mission.
My question is; Should Todd Palin be considered a traitor to his country? Also, if we treated Bill Clinton perjury as a "High Misdemeanor" wouldn't we have to admit that the Palin's are at least equally guilty of treason?
If so, is there a good reason to put a person in the office of VP if he or she would be immediately subject to impeachment?
