North Carolina is early voting AND Still registering new voters.
Although the registration deadline was October 10 for regular registration, voters who vote during early voting can register when they do, right up to 3 days before the election (November 1st). Note that these "one-stop" newly registered voters CANNOT vote on election day, only during the early voting (so make sure you can vote the day you go down).
Now on to the results-- And they have been SIMPLY AWESOME.
In the past week (SINCE the end of regular voter registration), Democrats have gained 47,632 voters, while Republicans have gained only 13,769, a difference of more than +30,000 for the Democrats in just one week!
Also interesting, last week saw the registration of more African Americans than had registered in any recent week. 30,600 new African Americans registered, as compared to only 37,410 white voters registered. Overall, African Americans made up 35.5% of the 86,174 new registrants last week. That is awesome considering they make up only about 21.3% of the voter rolls (up from 21.1% just last week).

The point of this article is simple-
NORTH CAROLINA WILL TURN BLUE (with our help)
Nobody get complacent!
Daily Kos' poll is tightening and others will be too.
This race will be a 5 point (or closer) contest in the final week.
BUT if we work really hard, we can make the final results can be considerably more awesome.
