Please read and share the article below the fold. It is a beautiful eyewitness account of Barack Obama.
Malia Obama probably wasn’t sure if her Dad would make it home from work to watch her soccer game this past Friday night.
He’s been pretty busy lately. But her Mom and her little sister would be there.
The flow of the kids moving the ball down the field, under the lights of a chilly night in October. The families chatting on the sidelines. The starlight glow of downtown Chicago rising up from the north.
Malia Obama at mid field shouts "Mom!" And the smile, grace, and presence of the woman whose eyes never once leave her daughter---no matter who else she speaks to, waves back and sends a radiant smile.
In that one wave and smile, you see hope come alive before your very eyes.
Then just a few minutes after eight; something like a shift in earth’s gravity occurs. To the casual observer, nothing in this scene has changed. That pull of the earth’s power must have been imagined.

Barack Obama is a loving father. He is a good man. A great man.
As for those saying reprehensible things about him, they are clearly ascribing traits to him that do not belong to him. They are showing the contents of their own sick minds and hearts. I pray they are healed. I voted yesterday for Barack Obama. The future of our country must not belong to those who are sick and misguided. We must not fear them. We must stand in unison, stand in love and truth and stand up for the future of all of our children. Many ordinary people through out the course of the history of this nation have had to stand up to the sick in heart and mind. America would not be the shining beacon of hope that it is without those ordinary people and their courage. It's our turn now to carry the the torch and carry America ever onward and upward toward its bright destiny. In the great tradition of our nation, it is our generations turn to summon our courage like those that went before us so that we may give our children a better world than exist right now. This is what those before us did for us, for our nation and for the world. We have now been called to this sacred duty. We must make sure that we hand the future of our nation not to the sick in mind and heart but to those who operate from truth and love.
Imagine a future where ignorance, intolerance, bigotry and hatred have the power to rule us all. At many times in our history, these forces have risen up and threatened to consume our great country and put out the light of hope that shines for the world to see. Americans have stood against these forces successfully every time.
The slashed tires, stolen signs, etc this is the immature and unevolved among us throwing a tantrum. Don't fear their tantrums. We have withstood them throughout the history of our nation and each time we have wrested this country away from them and toward greater and greater heights. The laws of physics are with us. Time does not go backward. No one once out can climb back into the womb. We will continue to grow. This is the way it is in all things. Some may curse tomorrow but it will come despite any protest no matter how vigorous.
In my home my children no longer have tantrums. They have learned that they will not get their way. I never gave in to them no matter how tired they made me. No matter how loud they screamed. Even if it would have been easier in the moment to just give them their way. If I would have given into them I would have created monsters. Our house would be run by tantrums. Easy for the moment; a life time of pain in the long run.
This is one of those times. The unevolved are throwing a collective tantrum. They have no idea what is in their best interest and they are insisting on dooming us all with their ignorance. They are flipping out in hopes that we will feel so inconvenienced by all of their shenanigans that we will just want it all to stop. What they don't know is that we know that, if we give in to them this time, they will own us forever. We are more afraid of that. We will not give in to them even though they will rage. It is for their own good and our future good that we will suffer the tantrums but not give them their way. Eventually, they will run out of steam like any one else who throws a tantrum but is not given their way. Eventually, they will grumble in their rooms away from the adults. Some day some of them will even say thank you for the tough love because in time, they will come to know that we saved them from themselves. We know in this moment, right now, that we are saving our children, ourselves and our country from a future ruled by them.
Take up the torch and run. "If you hear the dogs, KEEP RUNNING." Hillary Clinton quoting Sojourner Truth.
