I only waited for an hour and a half in line in Williamson County. Follow me over the jump...
I walked over to my local polling place at 5:10pm. It's right by my house and figured I could save the gas and get some exercise while I was at it. I took my daughter so she could witness the voting process. When we arrived there were already 65 people in line already and more were arriving by the minute. An election worker came outside to count people and told us there were only 6 machines and that one of them was down so too please be patient. There was a woman behind me who had a 15 month old baby and the baby was getting fussy after an hour of just standing there. I tried to play with her and make her laugh and help her mom out a little and I even offered to let her go ahead of me in line so she could get the baby home to eat. She declined but thanked me. I finally got in at 6:50 and the poll worker asked how old my child was and I replied 12. She said ok then she can stay and watch. I nervously clicked the Obama ballot and all dems unless there was not a dem running. If there was a rep/lib then I hit the Lib button. There were a couple of races where only Republicans were running and I left those blank. I cast my ballot. I can only say that it felt so good to cast that vote tonight! My daughter was beaming with joy at the sight of the ballot with Obama's name. I gave my last $25 to Noriega's campaign last night and I am broke as all hell but if it helps get the Big O and Noriega a win then it was worth everything I gave up for it! GO OBAMA!! GO NORIEGA!!
