As you would all have guessed it, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R- MN-06) is feeling the heat from her political debacle unfolding since her interview on Chris Matthews' Hardball last Friday.
And like a wounded animal she has come out lashing and whining about the big bad "liberal blogs". We are ogres to her and we bite ferociously...Grrrrrrrr
More after the jump...
Politico talked to Michele Bachmann about the fall-out from her interview with Hardball and here's her latest whine and drivel:
Last Friday, all the liberal special interests from California to Vermont found a new outlet for their energy, their frustrations and their money. That would be in defeating me.
In a matter of 48 hours after I participated in an interview with Chris Matthews on MSNBC’s "Hardball," more than $640,000 from donors across the country flooded into my opponent’s campaign. Almost to a one, these are people who never would have considered voting for me if they lived in Minnesota. In fact, most of them have probably never voted for a Republican. These are strong supporters of Barack Obama who want to see more liberal policies enacted in Washington.
So the Obama mafia set the liberal blogs on poor little her, followed by a full supporting cast of Democratic party apparatchiks and other predators all out to get her. And in her view the sad thing is that we do not know her. But the truth is that we DO know her views and record and those are the very reason why we want her booted out..
These are not people who know anything about my policy views. They don’t know anything about my record of reaching across the aisle on issues ranging from support for small business to foster care improvements, an issue near and dear to my heart as a former foster mother to 23 troubled teens. Or about my record of standing up to my own party when the occasion calls for it — such as opposing the $700 billion Wall Street bailout — and standing up to members of the other party when they try to push through tax hikes or limit personal liberty.
I have no idea, what any of the gobbledygook that she says above has got to do with her McCarthyite views about her Democratic members of congress needing to be exposed by the media for their "Anti-American" positions. Then she blatantly lies about what our own eyes saw and ears heard:
Despite the way the blogs and the Democratic Party are spinning it, I never called all liberals anti-American, I never questioned Barack Obama’s patriotism, and I never asked for some House Un-American Activities Committee witch hunt into my colleagues in Congress.
What I did was ask legitimate questions that Minnesotans have been asking me: What does Barack Obama mean by change?
She blames Chris Matthews and then outright insults us liberal blogs, Democrats in congress, and oh that most sinister of all things...money to kick her out of office.
It’s like a political version of the children’s game of telephone. I make a statement in an interview. Chris Matthews distorts it — as he is paid so well to do. The liberal blogs contort it even more. The speaker of the House and other Democrat leaders utter absolute lies about what was said in the interview. Then the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee picks it up and runs with it, buying $1 million for negative ads so that they don’t have to talk about the issues.
So folks, according to Bachmann's logic we are rabid mob. The rest of the piece is a mish mash of every republican talking point since Reagan, then she threw in her opposition to the $700 billion bailout, and how much she is a victim of the big bad liberal mafia....Whine whine & some cheese.
Here's that famous video once again:
And dare I say let this be fair warning that we will not let extremists with McCarthyite tendencies cower us into submission. NOT THIS TIME. And fortunately we have the technical tools to respond rapidly, and with overwhelming financial and ethical force, as well as mobilize the focused ire of a critical mass of people who love this country too much to let it fracture through Bachmann's type of divisiveness. Rep. Bachmann if you are voted out of office, it will be the ultimate act of democracy...action by the demos (in the Greek sense of the term)

Gee, thanks folks for sending me up to the Rec list. Thanks a bunch.

Update IV
The buzz in the local press has even forced Gov. Pawlenty to utter some mealy-mouthed statements. Quite mind boggling actually.
"If you do a lot of interviews, you're eventually going to say something that you wish you would have said something differently. It's just the nature of talking all day. Some words are going to come out of your mouth that you could have said better or should have said better, should have done differently," said Pawlenty. "We've all been there to varying degrees. I know I've been there."

Here's Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) on Harball on Oct 20, talking about the political fallout in Minnesota:
