I just saw this on BBC and thought it was funny.
The Russian mission to the UN in New York says it has turned down a request from John McCain to help fund his presidential campaign.
Ambassador to the UN Vitaly Churkin and others received standard mail-outs asking them to help "stop the Democrats from seizing control of Washington".
The McCain campaign says it was a computer error. Doubtless it was. But in light of the McCain campaign's hissy fit about Obama's $150m in contributions in September, and attempts to cast doubt on whether all Obama's donors are valid and within campaign contribution limits, it's just a wee bit funny to see them (even mistakenly) asking for support from foreign entities whose contributions would be, um, illegal.
Even funnier, of course, is to have it be addressed to the Russian government, obviously not huge fans of McCain after the recent Georgia-Russia conflict.
