Over at the FreeRepublic the delusion is truly mindboggling. But here is one contributor's suggestion that is intriguing:
Sarah Palin is the most effective spokesperson the McCain campaign has. The camera loves her, even more so than it does Senator Obama. The campaign should immediately purchase 30 minutes of network time to allow Gov. Palin to speak to America directly. She's guaranteed an enormous audience, to which she can speak without interference from media gatekeepers, without filters, without film on the cutting room floor. Sarah Palin can do more, reach more people in one shot than in skipping around from airport to airport from now until election day. She is a transformative communicator, let Sarah speak. Let her...
More below the fold
Just imaging a full 30 minutes of Sarah Palin speaking her mind "without filters" or "interference"! Because she has gone "rogue" or "rouge", she would likely not sit still for reading 30 minutes of prepared attack drivel as she did in her acceptance speech in St. Paul. She could make her stand for the 2012 nomination on John's nickel and really speak her mind.
I'd love to see the reaction of the country to an unfiltered look at Sarah Palin's mind cut loose from the restricting bounds of the McCain campaign's tired messages. THE HORROR!
Of course, as much as we'd all like to curl up with a bowl of popcorn and bottle of wine to watch such a spectacle, it would never happen. First of all, it would take a sizeable amount of John's war chest to pay for it and the network time may not even be available. It would be an admission that the campaign is over for JM and the Republicans are beginning to position for 2012. It would be incredibly risky for the downticket races if she rogues it up a bit too much.
