I just watched McCain speaking at a rally in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, and he stated that we will build new nuclear power plants, and that this will create billions of jobs. That's plural. As in billions. That means at least 2 billion, if not more. Of course, considering the source, I thought that maybe he had just misspoke. In fact, one minute later he mentioned clean coal, and he said this would create millions of jobs. However, he immediately clarified that by shouting out "billions".
Now I realize that McCain has confessed that the economy is not his strongest suit. At least he confessed it before he denied that he ever said that, despite video and audio records documenting him saying it. It's now my considered opinion that the reason he is not up to snuff on economic issues is that he just has really, really weak math skills. With an American population (including infants and people in old folks homes and all the potential snowflake babies in labs) that is at best 350 million people, my first inclination that his desire to create billions of jobs includes a whole whale of a lot of jobs in India, Pakistan, China, and other countries that actually have billions of people in them. But my wife had another thought, perhaps he expects us all to hold down six or seven jobs each.
In any event, nobody ever needs to fear being out of work during a McCain administration, as apparently billions of us can all have the same job as Homer Simpson at the local nuclear power plant. Or we can be coal miners!! Or BOTH!!! Or both SEVERAL TIMES OVER!!! Three shifts at each.
Now get off my lawn!!!
