The speculation concerning Barack Obama's successor in the United States Senate is popping up concerning Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr (D IL). There is also speculation concerning Illinois State Senate President Emil Jones. And Tammy Duckworth, the current head of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs.
But let me end the speculation here.
Rod Blagojevich will name himself. Oh, I know it sounds silly. Might not even be legal. But what other choice would Blagojevich have in light of the speculation swirling Illinois political circles.
Blagojevich will be impeached shortly after the Election.
Sneed hears a plan is afoot to impeach Gov. Blagojevich following the presidential election next month. Word is the votes are there. Stay tuned.
While I will acknowledge this is from a Chicago Sun Times gossip columnist, Michael Sneed, her sources are often excellent. Like when she said that "Hillary was broke" long before it became general knowledge that "Hillary was broke." I posted about that here and was criticized for quoting a gossip columnist.
There is only one choice, a bad choice, but nevertheless a choice for Blagojevich. Name himself the United States Senator from Illinois. He will finally achieve the attention he craves and be talked about in several news cycles and more later when he gets indicted by the feds.
Does he have any other choice? Resign as Governor. Appoint himself to the United States Senate.
Illinois politics is certainly interesting. Reading on Walden Bookstore.
