The NFL's smartest quarterback just showed why he's so damn smart by endorsing Barack Obama! Not only are BOTH Trent Edwards and Barack Obama extremely intelligent but they are both in terrific shape!

With the presidential election just four days away, many people are still undecided on whom they will vote for.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards is not one of them.

"I’ll be voting for Barack [Obama]," Edwards said in a conference call with the New York Jets media this week. "The reason is I think that a change needs to be made and that’s the biggest change out of the two candidates. Besides that, I haven’t really been following it too closely in terms of their issues, their policies and what they differ on. I just feel like [Obama] is the most different from the one we have in power right now. Hopefully, he’ll get elected."

What the hell does Trent Edwards know? He only majored in Political Science at STANFORD! Hello! Trent also has the seals of approval from  geniuses Bill Walsh and Marv Levy!

"I felt Trent's greatest asset was the swiftness with which he read a defense and how he knew where to go with the ball," he said. "It wasn't like, 'OK, he's covered, let me see what I should do next.' It's something that usually takes a long time for a quarterback to develop, but I see that mentality and intelligence in him right now, in just his second season."

Marv's intuition about Edwards was seconded after the draft in a conversation with his friend, late Hall of Fame coach Bill Walsh.

"Bill said, unsolicited, 'Marv, let me tell you, you've got yourself the right quarterback,'" Marv said. "Bill had been out in the Stanford area, so he was quite familiar with Trent.

"That was a pretty good validation , and I believe he's really come through wonderfully."

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
