I am currently watching the balloting occur in Dixville Notch, NH. We will have the results very soon, and as soon as they are known, I'll post them here.
These are the first ballots to be cast in the presidential race, and as such, will be one of the main stories throughout the day until the polls open elsewhere in the country. It isn't a leading indicator, but it would be great to win it.
Dixville Notch (along with Hart's Location) was the inspiration for the Hartsfield's Landing's voting on The West Wing. Needless to say, I wouldn't be surprised if both candidates are calling to woo the voters of these two small towns right now. Hopefully you'll stay with me as we discuss these small, and possibly insignificant numbers before we go to bed to take care of polling concerns tomorrow.
Update: They are now reporting that the ballots have been cast on MSNBC. We are now waiting for the exit polls from Dixville Notch. (Or, for you killjoys out there who want precision, we're actually waiting for them to open the box and count the votes.)
Update 2: McCain- 6 votes
Nader- 0 votes
Obama- 15 votes
