Not that it comes close to casting a vote for a black democrat this morning and knowing he can win, maybe even is likely to win. We were able to vote to change the world this morning, and how rare is that?
But on the way from the polls, I caught Glenn Beck on the radio, all but hissin' and spittin'. There was a long distasteful discussion of raping Cameron Diaz over something she said in 2004. Then he suggested black panthers were ready to riot because "they got their guy in."
Very ugly, very violent. Interesting from a religious conservative, eh?
You can find this sort of sour grapes everywhere, even though McCain still has a chance. Malkin writes "will Michelle Obama be calling our country "downright mean" again at the end of the night? Or will she and The One get the chance to "transform" the constitution, the military, the schools, and every other aspect of American life in their image?"
And Sean Hannity (last night, or was it the night before) couldn't stop complaining that he was the only one in the media who'd mention Ayres, or Wright. I'm pretty sure I've read that stuff elsewhere.
It's been a lot of fun, at least to me, to see McCain bashers like these, Coulter, Limbaugh and the rest turn into his talking-point memos. Fox has totally abandoned any pretense of separating news from opinion. It's been like a classic NFL game; a blowout is easy, but the great victories come when the better team holds off a late drive.
So get to the polls people. I don't want to be the one tasting the sour grapes tomorrow morning.
