It's slowly sinking in here about what has just happened and how all our hard work has paid off.
I was around here in 2004 and remember the disappointment when Kerry came so close to beating Bush. So many people didn't give up on the process. Things we tried that didn't work were perfected and improved. More people became involved. New voters were registered. It feels like a whole new generation and their energy has been added to the mix.
Thank you, Kos, for a place to network with like-minded folk when everyone else around you seems to have drunk the Republican Koolaid. Thank you, Kos, for your passion and perseverance even after losing a heartbreaking Presidential election. Thank you, Kos, for cheering us on, encouraging us, shaming us, but always pushing us toward the goal. Thank you, Kos, for the fundraising pushes to get the financial support and publicity that help us elect progressive candidates. Thank you, Kos and Kossacks, for the snappy comebacks and well-reasoned responses to conservatives who try to argue with me. Thank you, Kos, for the polls and electoral map to keep us informed with the info we want in a format that is easily accessible. Thank you, Kos, for your books and magazine columns keeping our movement in the public spotlight.
Most of all, thank you for all you do for us even while you have lots of other irons in the fire. Take a victory lap.
