Man this guy was quite a piece of work and has cast a large shadow on how politics have evolved these last 30 years and how Obama transcended those patterns.
The film follows the rise and premature death of Lee Atwater, who is most noted for the slimy way in which he conducted the 1988 Presidental campaign for George Bush.
Watching Bob Dole and Michael Dukakis just sorta blink and look dumbfounded at being with a new level of slimy attacks (which have been mirrored and amplified in the last three cycles), it's sorta sad and silly now after seeing how Obama handled such situations.
Obama was vaccinated. That virus stopped working this election. He was able to just belittle the old ways.
Anywho, it's an interesting watch. Catch it there, or on PBS 11/11/08. :)
