Holy Cow! I knew there were women like this. Beautiful, articulate, funny and perfect on the issues. I've known several - but there is something about Rachel.
She's incredible! I watch her and count the hours until she's on again. I think her intellect matches and perhaps surpasses Keith. She challenges common beliefs and makes people think and explain their views. Her sense of humor is incredible - especially when she debates Pat Buchanan. Rachel, could you maybe be on two or three hours a day? Keep up the great job!
Have you ever noticed how all the right wing commentators - Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, O'Reilly, Coulter, etc. etc. etc. are all filled with self importance and anger and venom? They never ever are positive. Over the past years they have hijacked the country, wrapped themselves in the flag and arrogantly branded themselves as the only true patriots. (It's absolutely nuts that Hannity starts conversations with callers saying "you're a great American") They, along with Bush, Cheney, Bachman, etc. have tried to make me feel like there's something wrong with me. They've made me embarrassed of this country. (Given their comments since the election, they have proven they really don't care about the country; only their power and issues.) After Tuesday, I feel like the demons have been defeated. We've taken back the country. I'm proud to be an American today. Today, I flew the flag for the first time in a very long while.
Meanwhile, K.O., Rachel and Big Ed please continue to discuss issues, make people think and treat it all with a sense of humor.
Now if I could just get Rachel on tv. 24/7/365. Help!
A final aside. I have two sons; ages 22 and 20. They really only remember Bush as President. Today, they told me how proud they are of this country. I'm proud of them, and all the young people who worked so hard, voted in large numbers and took back the country. Great job, please keep it up, never take it for granted. My son who is 20, got to vote in his first Presidential election this week. He went to vote at 7 a.m. and was told due to a glitch, he could not vote in his college town, he had to vote in his home town, four hours away. He was heart-broken. Through a series of kind people and hand offs, we got him home in time to vote, watch the returns and then got him back the next day in time for class. Because of this and many others reasons, he will never forget his first vote.
