America's economy is in an absolute meltdown. The Dow Jones Industrial Average may fall below 8000 by the end of this week. Unemployment is now at the highest levels since 1994. Layoffs are striking every sector of private enterprise. And we look back before this fool took power - Bush inherited, from Bill Clinton, one hell of an economy. He blew it. We had a surplus and were paying down the national debt under Clinton. Bush gave the surplus to the richest of the rich. Now, after eight years of incompetence, America's middle class is on it's death bed. And through it all I'm left asking myself - Where is our President?
Lame duck or not ... now is the time we need a leader. We need someone who is going to talk to us and guide us through these hard times. Through this kind of meltdown our President should be talking to the nation, in prime time, biweekly. He should be telling us what is happening and how we, being a great country, are going to fix it and move on. What have we gotten? One doom and gloom speech to pass a flawed bailout bill that now was proven to be flawed because just today the terms of it were changed.
Democrats have been pushing to put money into infrastructure programs to create jobs - Bush is opposed. They have fought for more unemployment benefits because people being laid off are hurting under the current system - Bush is opposed. This is our leader? This is the man that is running our country? He caused the mess and, even now, is playing political games with our future.
I needed to get my feelings out here because I am filled with so much rage watching all these reports coming out about how bad a shape we are in - and the silence from the White House is deafening. The incompetence of this President is just unbelievable. He has ruined this nation.
I'm so thankful fate has blessed us with Barack Obama at this moment. He has the ability, intelligence and insight to clean up the mess Bush has created. Barack Obama's inauguration cannot come soon enough. We need a leader right now - and we are without one.
