A lot of news today from the Georgia Senate runoff between Jim Martin and Saxby Chambliss. I'll recap what we've learned, but first I wanted to point out that early voting started today in most Georgia Counties.
As Yogi Berra says
It's Deja Vu All Over Again
.
But without the excuse of the long lines.
We need your help right now. If you haven't given $5, $10, or more and can we neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed you
To recap here's what else we learned today.
- Bill Clinton will be coming to Georgia to help Jim Martin.
- Donna Brazile is coming to Georgia to advise the Martin for Senate Campaign. From Donna's email
I'm on my way to Georgia, and I wanted to send you a quick message. When I heard Jim Martin was in a runoff, I cleared my calendar because I knew I needed to do whatever I could to ensure a big win for Jim in the 15 short days we have until the election.
Back in 2002, I helped Mary Landrieu win a runoff in Louisiana, so I know what it takes to win a race like this one, and I know that you can't win unless everyone does their part. That includes the volunteers phone banking, the canvassers knocking on doors, and supporters like you helping Jim raise the resources he needs to win. I know you've shown your support in the past, but now is the time to dig deep for Jim.
- Saxby Chambliss can't serve in the military because of a bum knee, but he can play golf with Tiger Woods and lobbyists on junkets. Read the Huffington Post article from earlier today.
Chambliss is one of the best golfers on Capitol Hill. I remember some advice from my grandfather about golf and business that is appropriate here
If you break 90 you aren't taking care of business. If you shoot above 90 you are doing well with business.
- I just got some info that Republicans are using some deceptive push polls about absentee voting. If anybody has any more info please post it.
Dig deep. Whatever you can afford. We neeeeeeeeeeed you.
