Dear fellow Kossacks:
The following video is a bit of brilliant Republican satire that is simply too good not to share. We can laugh along with the joke in this case because it is "Republican on Republican."
Just to give you some quick background, it is a video aimed at, and critical of, Republican Party of Virginia Chairman Jeff Frederick, the clown who told Republican canvassers to say that Barack Obama and Osama Bin Laden both had friends who had bombed the Pentagon. Well, six months ago, Jeff Frederick kicked out the previous chairman after some losses in the 2007 elections and promised to turn the RPV around and deliver victory in 2008. The result? Follow me over the jump.
The result was the loss of three seats in the House of Representatives, the loss of John Warner's open Senate seat (Democrat Mark Warner crushed his Republican challenger Jim Gilmore by thirty percentage points!), and Barack Obama carried the state of Virginia in the presidential election: the first Democrat to do so in 44 years.
All of this happened just months after Jeff Frederick booted out the previous chairman by making lavish promises of victory back in May 2008. Many Virginia Republicans are understandably upset, and now Frederick faces a vote of no confidence at this coming weekend's RPV retreat which, Republicans being Republicans, they prefer to call their retreat an "Advance."
Now that you have a little background, you have the preparation you need to really appreciate this video. This video from "Maximus" at The Contemporary Conservative is simply brilliant.
A big, grateful hat tip to The Contemporary Conservative for starting my day off with a great laugh.
