Hi. My name is Leftilicious, and I'm a Kossaholic.
I stop by to read at least several times a day. My new job is really busy so I don't get a chance to comment or diary as much as I used to, but still, this is where I get my news, my gossip, my rumor, my conspiracy theory and my conspiracy theory debunking. I thought my Kossaholism would diminish somewhat after the election, but it hasn't.
Which isn't a bad thing, usually.
The problem over the flip....
When I get home, I walk the dog. The walks are shorter these days as Wisconsin winter begins to settle in, but still, Maggie (the dog) and I bring dKos with us. I walk along our local trail with the leash in one hand and my iPhone in the other, catching up on what happened during my 45-minute commute home, occasionally getting so caught up in a diary that when I finish reading it, I find that I've wandered off the trails into the brambles or someone's backyard.
None of this is a problem. So what is the problem? Well, money's tight, you know, and I have the old iPhone. iPhone Classic, I like to call it. It's not the snazzy G3 one, and I don't have any plans to upgrade any time soon. The Military Ridge Trail in thriving downtown Mt. Horeb is not exaclty a wi-fi hotspot, so I'm left with good old EasyEdge.
And this site, bless its little heart, takes for-freakin'-ever to load. Sometimes it gets hung up on some ad and just won't load at all. And it's damn near impossible to comment. I'm not sure why but the interface just doesn't like something about how the commenting function is set up. I'm sure I'm not the only one ... am I right, Blackberry users?
So. Seems to me everybody else has mobile versions. CNN has one. So do MSNBC, ESPN, Yahoo, Google News (and regular google for that matter) ... and I'm sure lots of others that I'm not thinking of.
Even if it just had the first two frontpage stories (even just the first sentence or two with a link) and the recommended diaries, that'd tide me over until I could get to a real-live computer.
So, to my fellow Kossacks, what do you think? Good idea? And to Kos and his Techie Minions, how about it? Is it even possible?
I'll keep hitting the little circle with the arrow on the upper left hand of my Safari for iPhone browser, waiting for your response. And waiting. And waiting. Because, you know, it loads slow. On the iPhone. Ahem. Thanks for your consideration.
