The Associated Press reported a few minutes ago that democratic officials are reporting that Obama will nominate Hillary Clinton at a press conference in Chicago.
To clear the way for his wife to take the job, former President Bill Clinton agreed to disclose the names of every contributor to his foundation. He'll also refuse donations from foreign governments to the Clinton Global Initiative, his annual charitable conference, and will cease holding C.G.I. meetings overseas.
It's a very short article. My only observation is this: if, as some have suggested, it was not initially Obama's idea to nominate Clinton, the last two weeks have shown how effective the Clintons are in the art of manipulation. Rather than viewing this as a downside, that ability is exactly the kind of skill that I want in someone who will be leading our negotiations around the world.
