Apologies for a short diary. Lots of activity, both phonebanking and canvassing, is happening this afternoon at Jim Martin's State HQ

However, we need some special help from those who live in the Atlanta area. If you are reading this and know Atlanta residents who can come down to HQ now and help phonebank, please pass this info along.

Although reports of turnout vary throughout the state, we are receiving information that turnout is especially weak in Southwest Georgia, specifically in the Columbus, Thomaston, and LaGrange areas. We have generated some priority call lists for these areas and need more people to phonebank at headquarters. Unfortunately we cannot use the Barack Obama lists in such a way that we can specifically target SW Georgia.

If you live in the Atlanta area, please come to Martin HQ ASAP to phonebank. We are located at 1080 Spring St. NE in Midtown. Come one, come all and call, call, call! More on the flip...

If you can't come down and call off the paper lists for SW GA, please go online and make calls through the Obama system here!

UPDATE

If you live in the Atlanta area, come join the Martin victory celebration event after the polls close tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Park Tavern, 500 Tenth Street, N.E., Atlanta, GA 30309. Park Tavern is located in the Southeast corner of Piedmont Park in Midtown

UPDATE 2

Live election coverage online from the Martin victory celebration at Park Tavern will be available tonight on BlogTalk radio from 8-930PM here in addition to local media coverage.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
