In the Navy they have a saying "it takes a thousand atta boys to make up for one oh S**t." I think that logic is backwards
I wrote a diary with some terrible grammatical errors and I was told the error of my ways and rightfully so. But some of the comments I thought were kinda funny I cant even lie. But some I felt were just mean and this wouldnt matter to me but this online community is highly respected in my eyes but before I could I even feel like a complete idiot I got this comment
If this is true, then much applause is due you; (1+ / 0-)

writing is like riding a bicycle: you just keep doing it and it gets better over time. One cannot write poorly or well unless one writes at all. Congrats on getting that GED and enjoy college. In one of my writing classes, there was a young man who had never read a book until the year before and that was when he realized how much he wanted to write. Don't quit, stay with it, learning is a life long experience
To me that puts every negative or mean comment in perspective
You see I am 25 year old black male. I use to feel like a democrat by birthright I try no to be but sometimes I feel like a walking stereotype. All I knew was to vote for the person with the D in fornt of there name cause thats what black people do and if there aren't any letters in front of there names I just leave that part of the ballot blank rather than mess up and vote for a County level George Bush. But daily kos changed that for me. This community has answered the why for me with sound arguments based in facts and armed with those facts I got twelve of my friends to vote against prop 8 who would have otherwise voted for it. Now we might have lost that battle but If I can persuade 12 more people and they can tell 12 more people and so on tomorrow might just be better than yesterday. My question to you guys is how has daily kos helped you or changed you?
