I do not have much information on this just a phone call from My wife watching WGN news in Chicago. This ass is just going on like nothing happened. I am so angry right now...
With all the problems in the world Blagojevich is going to stir the pot again for his own benefit. I have nothing against Roland Burris, in fact he would be a good choice, but this has nothing to do with him and everything to do with Blago! PE Obama has enough to worry about without this crap – and so do we. He is not only doing this for himself but giving a rally cry to the Illinois Republicans and the GOP in general. Trust this so-called democrat to hand a senate seat to the Illinois GOP. I am sick of this asshole.
But it seem that Gov. Blagojevich is going to name Roland Burris to Obamas Senate seat.
I will update this post as more information comes in.

Roland Burris was the Attorney General of Illinois, Info Here
And Here
Roland W. Burris first ran for political office in Illinois in 1968, and since the 1970s has held two of the state's highest elected posts. He was Illinois's first African American comptroller, or treasurer, as well as its first African American attorney general. Yet Burris has also made unsuccessful bids for the governorship of Illinois--a state that has elected more African Americans to its top offices than any other in the union--but he failed to win the necessary political support among the powerful Chicago-Springfield Democratic Party organization. "Some politicians are easy to pigeonhole," remarked Chicago magazine writer Greg Hinz. "Roland Burris is not one of them.... His most visible side is that of the fighter, a man determined to succeed by dint of persistence and guile and hard work."
If you look at this any other way than that Blagojevich is trying to maintain his political relevancy – then your not paying attention. I am ashamed to say I voted for him – twice. However in my own defense I voted for his primary opponents both times.
Burris was born in 1937 in Centralia, Illinois, in the south-central part of the state, where his father, Earl, ran a small grocery store to supplement his income as a laborer for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. The Burrises had lived in Centralia for four generations, and Burris inherited a strong sense of community, a Baptist faith, and desire to eradicate injustice. He cited the summer of 1953 as a significant one in his life, for it began on Memorial Day with his dive into Centralia's municipal swimming pool. The city had unofficially barred the town's African American residents from using the facility, until Earl Burris decided that it should be otherwise. Burris's father even hired a lawyer to meet them at the pool that day, in case of trouble, but the attorney failed to appear. "All summer long, I heard my dad saying, 'If we as a race of people are going to get anywhere, we need lawyers and elected officials who are responsive and responsible,'" Burris recalled in the Chicago magazine interview. By the end of that summer, the 16-year-old Burris had decided to pursue a career in politics.
Now I know the Senate will not seat him, that is not the point. This will be a major distraction on top of the damage that Blagojevich has already done. The arrogance of this is mind boggling. I post this to get the word out and am sorry for the lack of content – I am updating as fast as I can. Thanks to all that have helped with updated news links.
The Chicago Tribune has picked up the Story
Gov. Rod Blagojevich is expected today to name former Illinois Atty. Gen. Roland Burris to replace President-elect Barack Obama in the U.S. Senate.
The action comes despite warnings by Democratic Senate leaders that they would not seat anyone appointed by the disgraced governor who faces criminal charges of trying to sell the post, sources familiar with the decision said.
If you look at this any other way than that Blagojevich is trying to maintain his political relevancy – then your not paying attention. I am ashamed to say I voted for him – twice. However in my own defense I voted for his primary opponents both times. Paul Vallas would have been sooo much better than this jerk, I wish he would come back to Illinois but he doing work in New Orleans.
Again this has nothing to do with Roland Burris being a good candidate or not. As I said he would be a great senator and would run strong in 2010; if not for the fact he will be appointed by one of the most corrupt Governors in the history of Illinois politics – and that is saying a lot!
UPDATE: The TV reports from my wife said that SOS Jesse White is refusing to certify the appointment. I am searching for back up on this and reading the Illinois election law chapters (Yawn).
UPDATE: Link
The Democratic governor can announce Burris as his pick, but it may be an empty gesture. Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White, who must certify the appointment, said Tuesday he will not do so. And U.S. Senate leaders reiterated that they won't accept anyone appointed by Blagojevich, who was arrested Dec. 9 on federal corruption charges.
While this suggests that Blago is so around the bend that he is no longer listening to his high powered lawyer:
His own lawyer said recently that there would be no point in Blagojevich naming someone to the Senate because leaders there would reject his appointment.
