Falon was killed two years ago Jan 6th. The case is still unsolved.
After she was killed her obituary ran in the local paper, The Southern Illinoisan, as
FALCON C TAYLOR.
Two years later they've done it again.
The only recourse I have is to come to this forum and blog about it.
I know this is a pro-active community so i thought i would give it a try.
I am printing the customer service number below for anyone that would like to support me in asking for this error to be fixed.
I have seen how phone banking has been a success for political endeavors and am hoping it will be successful in sending a message to the newspapers that they are accountable to their readers.

Her name is Falon C. Taylor
Not Falcon C. Taylor.
This "typo" devastated her grieving mother not to mention offending the rest of us.
When it happened two years ago, after Speaking with people at the newspaper, and corp. offices I was eventually told it would be corrected. It was, and we were told this type of mistake would not happen in the future.
Two years later, Jan 2009, I decided to run the reward poster (as a paid Ad) that was made by the local, Carbondale Il. Police dept. It is a small attempt at keeping Falon's case in the public eye.
Remembering the problems of the past I supplied the newspaper with the reward poster thus not even worrying they would misspell Falon's name again.
I live 1000 miles away so I was depending on cell phone pix messages to see the final product that was to run today, Sunday.
Upon receiving the pix message I was completely let down.
Once again the Paper has tagged my niece as Falcon C. Taylor.
As you can see below from the reward Poster it clearly states her name as Falon C. Taylor.
I already know they will use the "spell check" defense.
However that is unacceptable. The money is of little concern to me.
It is the respect my niece deserves that is lost via the incompetence of this paper that really bothers me.
This murder was the first of 2007, and has been reported on occasion over the last two years through other media outlets. Mainly television.
I've had a few people tell me I am making a mountain out of a mole hill.
I think im just asking for the respect my murdered niece deserves.
