Yesterday 10,000 people rallied at the Civic Center and marched through the streets of San Francisco, demanding an end to the ongoing Israeli massacre. Local TV coverage was reasonably good on four different stations. Below my video of the demonstration, followed by the TV coverage. Click here and here to see the higher-resolution versions of the two. Also a few stills I took are here.
For all apologists for Israel, I strongly hope you'll get to the end of the first video and listen to the representative of Jewish Voice for Peace giving her talk.
Because this was a pre-announced, permitted demonstration, compared to the semi-spontaneous actions that have been occurring nearly every day since the Israeli assault on Gaza began, there was a larger than usual contingent of Israeli apologists on hand, as you'll see in the TV coverage (not in my video). To them, I offer this quote from a piece by filmmaker Travis Wilkerson writes about another massacre that took place nearly 150 years ago - the massacre of an estimated 200 Native Americans at Sand Creek.
Like those who once defended Sand Creek, defenders of the Gaza massacre should be exposed to all for what they are: racist apologists of whole-scale barbarism, aiding and abetting an indefensible, criminal explosion of violence. These defenders include the entire political leadership of the U.S. government. History will not judge them merely as fools.
